Mokona is the group’s guide and transportation from world to world. There are in fact two Mokona’s and one of them is used for communication and the other is used to transport the group from world to world. The Black Mokona is used for communication and lives with Yuuko whereas the white Mokona can travel from world to world and aids the group. He cheers the group on and encourages them throughout the journey. He also tends to pair up with Fay in order to annoy Kurogane. Mokona is a very useful companion and has 108 secret skills (most of them are still unknown). Both Mokona’s have a gem on their foreheads and an earring and they can use their mouths to transport objects from world to world and they use the gems on their foreheads for communication.

Mokona acts like a babelfish since Syaoran, Sakura, Fay and Kurogane can all understand each other even though they are from different countries. Mokona also has the ability to sense Sakura’s feathers and he opens his eyes when he senses a feather. He is one of the most optimistic of the group.

Clow Reed and Yuuko created both Mokona’s. Apparently, the both Mokona's were created to prevent Fei Wang Reed's plans. Mokona has a very pleasant personality and he is very cute. He likes to tease Kurogane a lot and this normally results in Kurogane using violence to little Mokona.
