Syaoran Li is the transfer student that gave SAKURA a lot of work and hassle when he first arrived. He was originally sent from Hong Kong to Japan to Collect the Clow cards. At first Sakura and Syaoran were enemies and Syaoran was extremely serious and did not trust anyone. When he first finds Sakura, he demands Sakura to give him the Clow cards, which she refuses and he attempts to take the cards by force. As he fails to get the Cards off Sakura, he decides to track down the Clow cards instead in an attempt to capture them.

Since Birth, Syaoran was trained in all types of skills to become the future leader of the Li Clan. The Li Chan is a clan who have a long lineage of magic and Clow reed’s mother originally came from the Li Clan. Syaoran is trained in Martial arts, magic (trained to use Ofuda and his sword) and many other skills. Syaoran is sent to Japan as his mother feels that the Clan is the rightful owners of the Clow cards.

As the show progresses, Syaoran starts to become friendlier towards Sakura. He starts to become a lot friendlier towards her and starts to support her a lot especially when trying to capture the cards. He learns a lot from being around Sakura and starts to be more polite and affectionate to all of his classmates and friends. Eventually, he partners up with Sakura in order to capture the Clow cards.

Syaoran is extremely athletic as well as a really good football player. He is extremely skilled using his sword and martial arts and has a good amount of magical power. His magical power comes from the moon and in the story he is briefly attracted to YUKITO because of the power of the moon which is within him. This power is actually YUE. He is very intelligent and he is able to use his magic to find other people provided he has an item of the person he is finding.

Even after all of the Clow cards have been captured, Syaoran stays by Sakura’s side giving her advice and encouragement when trying to transform the Clow cards into Sakura cards. When ERIOL comes to Tomoeda, Syaoran feels Jealous and angry at how close Eriol is getting to Sakura although Syaoran helps Sakura greatly in the final battle to transform the last 2 Clow cards into Sakura cards. Syaoran’s feelings toward Sakura greatly change from friendliness to love and Syaoran confesses to Sakura after she has converted all of the Clow cards to Sakura cards.
