Sakura is the heroine and the main Cardcaptor in the story. Selected by Kero, she was nominated to capture all of the Clow Cards that she released by accident. She has a very optimistic view towards capturing the cards and never gives up.

Sakura is a very kind and caring girl with a very loving aura. She is in fourth grade at Tomoeda Elementary School and her best friend is Tomoyo Daijoubi. Sakura is very friendly and attempts to make friends with everyone. Not only is Sakura caring, but she is also very athletic. She participates in the cheerleading squad in school, is outstanding at gymnastics and runs for the track team.

Sakura is just an ordinary girl when it comes to her normal life away from magic. She lives with her brother, Touya and her father, Fujitaka. Her mother, Nadeshiko passed away when Sakura was only 3 years old although a different picture of Nadeshiko is put on the dining room table every day. Sakura is a good cook and she has a huge fear of ghosts and hates listening to ghost stories.

Tomoyo creates all of Sakura’s costume and also offers Tomoyo a lot of support and encouragement when capturing the cards. Sakura gives all of her strength to capture the cards and makes sure that nobody gets hurt. Kero and Yue also support and guide Sakura when she has to capture the Clow cards and transform the cards to Sakura cards.

One important thing about Sakura, is that she is very happy and it is very infectious. The main focus point of her character is that she is very determined and never gives up no matter what the situation.
