Overall Differences
Cardcaptors and Cardcaptor Sakura have slightly different story lines so that it could be adjusted to different audiences. Cardcaptor Sakura is the main plot and it isn't altered but Cardcaptors (American dubbed version) changed the plot line and story line to accommodate it's audiences. Listed below are some of the differences:
The voices in the anime of Cardcaptor Sakura really fits the anime whereas the voices for the characters in Cardcaptors made Sakura who is ten years old sound like a 14 year old or even older.
The characters' personalities in the dubbed version are different as well as the relationships.
All of the characters names are difference. See Name differences
The relationship between Sakura and Syaoran is edited out and instead of Syaoran falling in love with Sakura, they make their relationship a rivalry to friendship relationship.
There was no Kero's corner in the dubbed version. Instead they replaces it with descriptions of the Clow cards.
Lots of the Episodes were cut out from the dubbed version.
The Japanese version of the series is called Cardcaptor Sakura but the American and dubbed version is called Cardcaptors.
There is different music in the dubbed version. I have the Cardcaptor Sakura OST but the Cardcaptor Sakura music is really cute and nice whereas the Cardcaptors isn’t the same.
Also the order of the episodes in Cardcaptors was altered.
