Yelan Li is known as the mother of SYAORAN LI and also has four daughters. She only features in the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie and the end of the series where she is talking to Syaoran on the phone.

Yelan is the direct descendant of CLOW REED and she possesses a strong magic power which she also wants Syaoran to acquire in order to become the new leader of the Li clan. Her strong powers made her able to break through a barrier that both Sakura and Syaoran were unable to get through. She is also able to sense spirits and magical powers as she is able to sense that Sakura has the Clow cards.

She is a very elegant person and has a very authoritative aura to her. Syaoran is very scared of her when it comes to giving her his exam results and tries to make sure that he gets the best grades. She is apparently the head of the Clan and even though she may seem very strict, she does adore her children but expects her children to have good etiquette and good manners. She even trusts Syaoran to live by himself in Japan. Syaoran was raised by Wei who trained him with magic and also is very serious around Syaoran as well as being very kind.

She also seems to care a lot for SAKURA as she tells Sakura to be careful and even asks Sakura to stay the night at the Li mansion as well as offering them clean clothes.
